D die Europa-Tour von Two Door Cinema Club und damit auch das für 04. Oktober 2022 geplante Konzert in der Fabrik wird leider abgesagt.

Tickets können dort zurückgegeben werden wo sie gekauft wurden.

Die Band schreibt:

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease and have been receiving treatment for this by the incredible NHS.

I’ve loved every second of playing shows again this summer, especially after such a long time away but the harsh reality is that it’s been really hard on my body. I’ve been experiencing a lot of ups and downs in managing this bastard of a disease and after a lot of long chats with my doctor we’ve decided that the next step is surgery to remove the affected organ after which it should be much more manageable.

I'm scheduled to have the operation in a few weeks so I'm really sorry to have to tell you we're going to have to cancel our EU tour in September/October. As for shows later this year, as it stands the medical advice I've been given is that we'll have to wait and see how the recovery goes after my operation. We will of course keep you guys updated as to whether the North American tour will proceed, as soon as we know, you'll know. I know this is far from ideal and we're so sad we won't be able to make these EU shows happen, we’ve been so looking forward to seeing you after so long!

I want to say thank you to the amazing NHS for taking such good care of me, thank you to Sam and Alex for their support and understanding but mainly thanks to all of you for being the best fans in the world.

War das ein Fest, als Two Door Cinema Club beim Tempelhof Sounds das erste Mal seit gut zwei Jahren wieder bei uns aufgetreten sind und das Festival-Publikum zum Toben gebracht haben. Die Nordiren haben mit ihrem elektronisch beflügelten Indie-Rock-Pop mit Melodien zum Reinlegen so richtig Spaß gemacht. Und bei ihren nächsten Shows wird dann wohl auch endlich neue Musik zu hören sein, wie z.B. ihre bald erscheinende Single „Wonderful Life“. Der Track ist gleichzeitig eine Reminiszenz an die frühen Jahre der Band und zugleich natürlich auch der Ausblick auf das kommende fünfte Album „Keep On Smiling“, das Anfang September erscheint. Der Titel ist gleichzeitig das Motto des TDCC für unsere Zeit: „The lunatics have taken over the asylum, what are we going to do? Keep On Smiling. Cos what else are we going to do?“. Wenn nur alle Psychopharmaka so lässig, cool, musikalisch aufregend und vor allem nebenwirkungsfrei daherkämen wie das Trio aus Bangor, wäre die Welt auf alle Fälle eine bessere, fröhlichere und tanzbarere. Die drei Schulfreunde Alex Trimble (Gitarre, Synthesizer, Beats, Gesang), Sam Halliday (Gitarre, Gesang) und Kevin Baird (Bass, Gesang) rocken die Häuser seit ihrem Debüt „Tourist History“ und haben seither zwar ihren Sound einige Male gewandelt und weiterentwickelt, aber nie grundsätzlich verändert. Irgendwo zwischen Gitarren-sattem Rock, Synthie-poppigen Electronica und fetten Produktionen, zwischen Heaven 17, Prince, Madonna und Nile Rodgers freut man sich auf Trimbles klare Stimme und diese Songs, die jeden sofort zum Tanzen bringen. Im Oktober ist es dann wieder soweit: Der Two Door Cinema Club öffnet wieder seine Türen. Zwar nicht im Lichtspieltheater um die Ecke, dafür aber für die Live-Auftritte in vier unserer schönsten Hallen.
